The trio all attended high school together in Lemoore and has remained
friends through the years. Jason starting home brewing six years ago and Chris
eight years ago. Each of the trio brews for the company and Chris said they
each have different kinds of beer they prefer, which Chris said works out
perfectly.
"Beer is just cool," Chris said.
Not only is beer cool, but Barrelhouse Brewing Co’s new location is “cool”
with its large beer garden that is part of the taproom. The beer garden is
complete with a stage built on a rusty old pickup truck, picnic benches and a rock,
pond/fountain.
Chris said that once the lights are on tomorrow, they won't go off. The
taproom will be open Monday through Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. and Friday
through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
At the grand opening party on Saturday, the brewery will serve four beers,
each the first batch made in the new system. Chris while the beers are good,
they are still working on matching their recipes from a smaller system to a
large system.
“We just want people to come out, celebrate with us and drink our beer,”
Chris said.
The brewery will brew just about everything, but Chris said they will focus
on the lighter session beers, though they will also produce “big, beautiful”
barrel-aged beers—stouts and porters. The brewery’s theme, and the owners’
vision, is early Americana. The finishing touches of the interior—the wood is
from a torn-down barn and the bricks from a building—are being reused from old
structures.
